Hi, I'm Matt Deckard

Matt Deckard is an educational professional and consultant in Nashville. He is the publisher of schoolcentrix, an educational leadership website and weekly newsletter to globally promote professional development among educational leaders.

His interests include development and integration of educational technology in classrooms and schools, reforming educational policies, and sharing expertise in building collaborative professional learning Dribble URLcommunities utilizing effective instructional strategies.

He has been a middle school teacher and school administrator since 1997. Throughout his career, he has lead school improvement initiatives and framework for continuing accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Tennessee School Improvement Planning Process (TSIPP) through AdvancED.

His experience has included leading workshops on educational technology, educational leadership, curriculum development, and authentic learning as well as overseeing technology implementation within the school and participating in extensive input for district level implementation of technology. As an active learner and advocate for education reform, Matt has played a major role in new teacher and new principal mentoring by assisting those new to the educational profession in classroom management, instruction, and assessment.
